How to fight depression

Depression – How To Fight It | My Own Story

I think I am the right person to help you fight depression, because I have felt it deeply. This is the only reason I want to help people fight it and live a blissful life.

Depression has been a part of my life for a very long time. It has affected my thoughts, behavior, perceptions, body language, facial expressions and my life at a very high level.

I could not listen to the people talking but they kept talking because they didn’t know how I felt. Then I created my own perception that no-one gets me, everyone is concerned about his/her life only, no-one gives a damn about me. I felt suffocated. I blamed people for how I felt.

Now I know how wrong was I.

Here is the thing I want you to believe in, most of the depressive disorders are self-created. The experiences make you create the dark perceptions about people and this world and gradually you keep living on them.

Later you come to know you have become isolated and you feel like you don’t belong to this world.

Let’s just face the reality here, if you don’t belong to this world, then where else do you belong?

I want you to please stop wasting this life feeling depressed. Try to fight it and feel the positivity around you. Life is too damn short for all these negative shits.

Now, here’s the deal buddy, go through the tools and ways I am going to tell you, apply them in your life and believe in yourself, have faith in yourself.

Here we go,

1. Meditation:

The one and only number one tool in my list in meditation, no arguments here.

Practice meditation every morning if you can. It helps you touch the true existence of life. It makes you see the world as it is and feel the blissfulness of everything around you.

After practicing meditation seriously for a time you will feel the positivity and pleasure within yourself. You won’t have time for negative things like judgement, jealousy, greed and anger.

Science also supports my point here.

A study published in journal Psychiatric Research, showed that the group that received mindfulness based stress reduction technique, had h great reduction in stress and depression.

Meditation not only makes you feel calm but at the same time leaves impact on the cellular level.

I would recommend you to watch honourable Sadhguru’s videos on YouTube or visit his site.

Meditation improves your focus and thinking abilities and most importantly your way of living.

This is why saints and mystics remain so blissful and calm, regardless of what is going on around them.

2. One thing At A Time:

Try to do and engage in only one activity at a time. Give your 100% focus to that task only.

Do not let thoughts of other unfinished tasks creep in and ruin this task as well as your mental balance.

By adopting this in your life, you must notice your focus and concentration is increasing and you don’t feel uncertain anymore.

You must have heard the phrase, “Work while you work, play while you play.”

Well, that’s all I am talking about. It’s time my man, it’s time.

3. Know That Your Current Thoughts Depend On Your Current Mood:

The negative thoughts that are coming to your mind right now, are because your are anxious and depressed right now.

Please believe in the fact that once you will get over it your thoughts will become positive and your perceptions will also become positive.

After all happiness is the ultimate goal. Isn’t it?

To know more about this point, kindly refer to Scientific American.

4. Be Physically And Mentally Active To Get Rid Of Depression:

Wake up early in the morning and take a bath. Start your day with meditation and yoga. You would feel the energy and excitement. Then do your things.

Make this your routine.

Many people are depressed just because they are too lazy and they don’t even know this reason.

As one of the greatest motivation speakers Sandeep Maheshwari says “Don’t just lie around like a pig does in a smelly drain, at least just be aware of what is going on around you.”

Researches have also shown that meditation, yoga and exercise can reduce the signs of depression significantly.

Playing a sport is a great way to be physically active and focus your mind.

Participate in outdoor physical activities and sports, throw a ball, catch a ball, whatever you can do, just try to engage and focus on that activity and enjoy this.

5. Don’t Take Too Much Interest On What Other People Are Doing. Do Your Own Thing:

Don’t be confused that, this person is doing this, why don’t I do it? It doesn’t work that way. Only do it if you really like to do it.

That guy is not you, you are not that guy. That guy’s journey is his own, your journey is your own.

Life is too short for getting confused.

For example, if a guy is preparing for MBA, it doesn’t mean that you do it too. Until or unless you are damn sure that you are capable of it and you will love the life that you will live after doing MBA. Don’t just dive into this endless sea.

Life is full of plenty of other options that you might like, choose yours freely.

6. Change Your Expectations And Don’t Crave For Attention, Face The Reality:

Any person can not fulfill all of your expectations. Sooner or later he is going to disappoint you one way or another.

Even you can not fulfill all the expectations of a single person. Face the fact that we all are humans. We are not perfect and never will be. We make mistakes.

Seeking attention is defined by Histrionic Personality Disorder(HPD).

You start to behave strange or dramatic if someone disappoints you or for some other thing that you find wrong. And if this becomes a tendency of you with every person that disappoints you even mistakenly, then this can lead to depression.

I say, why do this? Just ignore it and try to move on with your life gracefully. Grow up and learn to forgive, try to see the reality and reasons. Try to understand why someone did that thing that was wrong for you.

To know more about this watch Sadhguru’s video.

7. Speak Out To Kick Out Depression:

Depression is something that a person feels so bad but often it is not recognized by outside world.

If you are suffering from this mental disease, please express your emotions, share them with your loved ones or stand in front of your mirror and let it all out.

Do not keep it in . You must have to let it out somehow. Speaking out does help. I have tried it with people and with mirror as well.

Last thing I want to say that please get a hobby. Maybe learn to play guitar, driving, singing or dancing whatever you feel like. I tried this too. Now I can play guitar a little bit and when I feel down I pick it up and start playing. I don’t give a damn about anything else at that time.

I just play.

Let’s face it guys,

Most of us love drinking beer but very few of us know when to quit for the day and very few of us drink it in right amount. Most of us drink it to get wasted. Don’t we?

Excess of anything can turn out to be disastrous for your health, whether it is healthy nutrient protein or carbs or fat.

You may have heard that drinking moderate amount of beer is good for health. Yes it is true only if you drink it in moderate amount. After all it contains alcohol, whose excess in you body will not do any good.

So, here’s the deal,

Below negative impacts can come into the picture if you consume beer in large quantities:

1. Beer Is High In Empty Calories:

Beer is high in calories but it contains very few amounts of nutrients, this makes it bad for people who are trying to lose weight. Your liver converts alcohol present in the beer to acetate and body burns acetate to get energy instead of fat and excess amount of fat is stored in your body, mostly in your belly and hips. This is why we use the term “beer belly”.

2. Liver Damage:

Drinking excess amount of beer everyday will trigger inflammation in liver. Chronic drinkers have high risk of developing fatty liver disease (Steatosis), alcoholic hepatitis and this may lead to cirrhosis. And liver disease is not a joke.

Over time heavy drinkers damage their short and long term memory functions and they may be unable to recall their plans and intentions. And may face trouble focusing and learning. Heavy consumption may lead to insomnia and depression and risk of strokes may increase.

4. Low Blood Sugar:

Beer can interfere with sugar levels in your body and contribute to weight gain. Sugar is stored in your liver as glycogen, when blood sugar drops, liver converts glycogen to glucose and it gets released into the bloodstream. The impact of alcohol in this process is that when blood sugar drops, the liver does not convert glycogen into glucose, making you feel hungry and forces you to eat whatever and destroys your diet plan.

You should have moderate amount of beer after eating healthy food according to your diet plan.

5. Dehydration And Fatigue:

Beer contains alcohol, whih is a strong dehydrating agent. Heavy alcohol consumption decelerates the functioning of your nervous system, which leads to tiredness.

6. Sleep Difficulties:

Heavy alcohol intake can lead to sleeping difficulties, which leads to poor quality of sleep. Without proper sleep, your body can not function properly.

Chronic alcohol drinkers have also reported an increase in disturbing dreams and nightmares.

Take care of yourselves.
