Spinach Soup (Palak Soup) Recipe: The Healthiest and Easiest and Way

This is one of the simplest and healthiest recipes of spinach soup aka palak soup. It is full of important vitamins and minerals and also very tasty and low in calories.

You can replace your everyday tea or coffee with this super healthy soup, which is so easy to make. So without any delay lets move on to the recipe.

Ingredients for Spinach Soup or Palak Soup:

  • 2 to 3 bundles of roughly chopped spinach
  • One medium finely chopped onion
  • 6 to 8 black peppercorns
  • 1 or 2 bay leaves
  • 5 cloves of chopped garlic
  • 3 cups of water or vegetable stock
  • 1 cup of skimmed milk
  • Salt to taste
  • One large pinch of white pepper powder
  • One tablespoon of olive oil (or regular cooking oil)

Tips:

  • If you don’t have olive oil you can use any other healthy option such as mustard oil.
  • You can skip garlic if you don’t like it.

Step by Step Spinach Soup Recipe (Palak Soup):

  • Thoroughly wash the spinach leaves and roughly chop them. Put them in a container with holes in it where water can drain out. You can use paper towels to make them dry.
  • Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan on medium flame.
  • Put finely chopped 5 cloves of garlic and stir it for one minute. (If you don’t like garlic you can skip it).
  • Then add 1 or 2 bay leaves and one medium finely chopped onion and mix it well.
  • Now, add 6 to 8 black peppercorns.
  • As soon as onions start to become light brown in color, add roughly chopped spinach leaves. Then add salt to taste and stir it well. Cook it for 2 minutes without the lid.
  • Now add 3 cups of water or vegetable stock and cook it for 3 minutes on high flame.
  • As soon as it starts to boil, turn off the flame, take out the bay leaves and let it cool down. You can transfer it to another container to cool it down.
  • As soon as it cools down, separate the spinach mixture from water. Put this water in a separate container, we will add it later.
  • Put the spinach mixture in a mixer and make a puree. Take it out of the mixer and add the water back that we previously separated it from.
  • Heat it and then add 1 cup of skimmed milk.
  • As soon as it starts to boil, add a large pinch of white pepper powder and mix it well.

Congratulations! Your healthy and delicious spinach soup or palak soup is ready to be served.
