Water is the most important and most easily available resource in our life.
Water is one of the most important substances on earth. All animals and plants badly need water to survive. If there was no water there would be no life on earth.
Here I’m going to talk about dehydration and it’s impacts to your health.
In simple words dehydration means our body needs water. In other words, our body does not have enough fluid to work properly. Dehydration can be deadly.
We should approximately drink at least two litres of water everyday. But if you are in open sun or you do a lot of physical activities you need more than two litres.
Common symptoms of dehydration are:
- Dark colored urine
- Loss of strength
- Dry lips, mouth and eyes
- Urinating less often than usual
It can also lead to constipation and muscle damage. If dehydration is chronic it can increase you risk of kidney stones.
Some effects that dehydration leaves to our body are:
1. Increased Vulnerability To Other Diseases:
Dehydration can lead to other troubles like high blood pressure, asthma, high cholesterol, kidney disease, acidosis, obesity, skin problems and digestion disorders.
2. Skin Problems:
Because of less fluid in your body you may have wrinkles, dry skin, risk of dandruff, and acne.
3. Weakens thinking and focus:
Dehydration can cause your blood to thicken that in can not reach to certain parts of your brain.
Without proper blood flow to your brain it can not function properly and focus and thinking ability get affected.
4. Affects Exercise Performance:
Main reasons behind the dehydration affecting the workout performance are:
- Decrements in blood volume
- Decreased flood flow to our skin
- Decreased sweat rate
- Decreased heat dissipation
- Increased use of muscle glycogen
5. Affects Our Feelings:
It makes us irritable, tired, dizzy and weakens our immune system.
Dehydration increases risk of joint pain and inflammation. Constant small headaches are there if you are dealing with dehydration.
